WWIB 10th Birthday Celebration
A decade of connection, collaboration, and community.
Ten years ago, Wollondilly Women in Business began as a simple idea, bringing local women together to share stories, support each other, and grow stronger together. This week, we celebrated just how far that idea has taken us: a vibrant, connected network of women who champion one another’s success and lift the whole community with them.
On Tuesday evening, we came together to celebrate an incredible milestone...10 years of Wollondilly Women in Business. It was an evening filled with connection, laughter, and reflection, and it was made all the more special by the amazing people who joined us.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who attended. Your presence, energy, and support made the night truly unforgettable. The evening was a beautiful reflection of the strength, spirit, and heart of our community.
We are so grateful to all the local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes, to the Mayor of Wollondilly, Judy Hannan MP, and the Wollondilly Council members for joining us on the night and for their ongoing support of our endeavours.
To our founder Michelle Legg, thank you for your vision and passion, which planted the seeds of this vibrant network. To every volunteer who has served on our board over the last decade, and to all who have contributed their time and energy to building this diverse, supportive, and thriving network... we wouldn’t be here without you.
A huge shoutout to our amazing WWIB Committee: Yvette Hodkinson, Chrissy Muchenagumbo, Joanne Flack, and our wonderful MC Brooke Hilton. Thank you for pouring so much love, time, and dedication into bringing this milestone event to life.
Gratitude also goes to our wonderful host, the Thirlmere Rail Museum, what a local treasure we have here in the Wollondilly. We’re so appreciative of Deb and the team at The Celebration Society for creating the most spectacular 10th birthday decorations, and to Tenille Salmon for capturing the magic of the evening so beautifully and Chrissy Muchenagumbo for the delicious cake! We extend heartfelt thanks to our generous network sponsors: Right to Drive, Judy Hannan MP, WorkLife Picton, Mining and Energy Union, Wollondilly Council, and Precedent, for their ongoing support of our vision.
A special mention and deepest appreciation to our founding members, who have been with us since the beginning and were honoured on the night for their 10-year commitment to WWIB: Christina Blake, Brooke Hilton, Yvette Hodkinson, Sylvie Hollingworth, Michelle Legg, Sally Messer, Tina Meyer, Stephanie Powell, Julie Redmond, Kim Scurr, Tia Veech, Trudy Catford, Christine Maude, and Sharryn Hilton.
Finally, a special thanks to our generous event sponsors for making the evening possible:
The Celebration Society, Imalia, Relax Deer, Wollondilly Podiatry, The Way To Health, At Full Potential.
At WWIB, we believe in the power of connection, collaboration, and community. We exist to create a safe and inspiring space for women to grow their businesses, expand their networks, and thrive, both professionally and personally.
As we look ahead to the next decade, we’re excited to share our bold vision for the future:
-
The launch of a women’s social enterprise. A permanent home for WWIB where we can be a landing board for more local women in business.
-
Our new referral program... now live, connecting members with trusted services and opportunities. (Win a $500 VISA Card- refer your friends and colleagues)
-
Our new Resource Centre. In its infancy now, but the beginning of a growing library of educational tools, templates, and guides for our members.
-
The Business Bricks training program (applications open now) continuing to offer practical, high-impact workshops that build strong business foundations.
-
A new business mentoring platform. Designed to connect experienced entrepreneurs with emerging business owners for guidance, support, and growth.
The next ten years will be about expanding opportunities, deepening connections, and creating lasting impact for women in business across our region. And we’re just getting started.
Here’s to another decade of connection, growth, and women supporting women—together, we are unstoppable.
"Thank you so much for inviting us to join you for your 10th Birthday – a wonderful evening that was warm, engaging and demonstrated the values that you ladies created and continue to foster. You should be so very proud of yourselves; it is an honour to be able to participate in our small way." - Dom Milligan, National Manager, Right2Drive
